What we collect, and why

In plain terms, and specific to this website. Last updated September 2026.

01

The short version

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • We do not use this site to build advertising audiences. Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off deliberately.
  • You can browse the whole site without giving us anything. Information reaches us only when you fill in the enquiry form, subscribe to the newsletter, or email us.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to delete it, by emailing info@arena.vet.
02

What you give us on purpose

The employer enquiry form

If you fill in the form on the For Employers page we receive what you typed: your company name and website, your name, email address and phone number, the role you are hiring for, its location, timeline and salary range, anything you write in the free-text box, and the job description file if you attach one.

It is handled by Netlify, who host this website. Submissions are emailed to us and stored in our account with them. We use it to answer you and, if we work together, to run the search.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, we receive your name and email address. That is handled by Kit, our email provider, and is used to send you Arena Insights. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Email

If you email info@arena.vet, we keep the correspondence so we can pick the conversation back up later.

Candidates

If you send us a CV, we hold it so we can consider you for roles. We do not pass it to a client without telling you which client and getting your agreement first. Ask us to delete it and we will.

03

What is collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which links are followed. It records things like the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you used. It sets a cookie on arena.vet to recognise a returning visit.

Two choices worth stating, because they are not the default. Google Signals is off and ad personalisation is off. We measure reading and hiring interest. We do not build advertising audiences from this site, and nothing here feeds ad targeting.

Our cookie is shared across arena.vet and its subdomains, so moving between this site, the job board and Insights counts as one visit rather than three strangers. If you would rather not be measured at all, any browser-level tracker blocker will stop it, and nothing on the site breaks when you do.

04

Who else sees it

Only the companies that run parts of this site for us:

  • Netlify, who host the site and receive form submissions.
  • Google Analytics, for the measurement described above.
  • Kit, who send the newsletter.

Beyond that, a client only ever sees your details when you are a candidate we are putting forward and you have agreed to it.

05

How long we keep it

Enquiries and correspondence: for as long as the relationship is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case it starts again. Candidate details: until you ask us to remove them, or until they are clearly out of date. Analytics: 14 months, after which Google deletes it.

06

Asking us to delete it

Email info@arena.vet and say what you want. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We do not require a form or a particular wording.

A note on this page

This is a description, not legal advice

It is written to describe accurately what this website does, and it is kept up to date when the site changes. It is not a lawyer's document and does not attempt to cover obligations that may apply elsewhere, such as GDPR for visitors in the UK or EU.
